On the 3th of September 2019, ACbit organized survivors from three Municipalities (Baucau, Covalima and Oé-cusse) to meet with the Women of Parliament in Timor-Leste (GMPT) to discuss the problems that women survivors have faced since independence was granted in 1999. Women survivors spoke up about the lack of education opportunities that exist for their children, their bad health, and about the no recognition or social support from the government since this time. The meeting took place with the technical assistance of UN Women Asia and the Pacific and with the funding of the Embassy of Japan in Timor-Leste as part of the Women, Peace and Security Program #NAP1325. More meetings like this are expected to be held in 25 September, 2019
